First Congregational Church on the Green
Farmers Market
Farmers Market starts June 26th 2021 9-2pm!
The Farmer’s Market at First Church began as an attempt to offer fresh, healthy vegetables to those who, otherwise, may not get them. Thus, our Farmer’s Market welcomes not only cash and credit cards, but also EBT and SNAP.
While our congregation receives no money from this endeavor, the Farmer’s Market allows us to reach out to our community and provide a needed service. To further help those using EBT or SNAP, First Church matches dollar for dollar any EBT or SNAP dollars used at our Farmer’s Market. That’s right, if a person spends $20 of their EBT or SNAP, First Church covers an additional $20 so they can receive $40 worth of fresh vegetables from our Farmer or fresh bread from Wave Hill Bakery. The Farmer’s Market runs every Saturday beginning in July through the end of October from 9-1pm. We conclude with a Harvest Festival complete with games, costumes, prizes, and of course the last farmer’s market for the season.
